About 37 percent of the 508 degrees and certificates handed out by the Umpqua Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Roseburg conferred 187 associate's degrees and 1 certificates in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 173 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 81 certificates in Marketing/Marketing Management, General and 43 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse.

The college enrolled 2,209 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
