About 18.5 percent of the 302 degrees and certificates handed out by the Reed College in 2016-17 were to students in Social Sciences programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Portland conferred 56 bachelor's degrees in Social Sciences programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, General. Data shows the school gave out 29 bachelor's degrees in English Language and Literature, General, followed by 25 bachelor's degrees in Multi-/Interdisciplinary Studies, Other and 24 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General.
The college enrolled 1,427 students for 2016-17, including 1,410 in undergraduate programs and 17 in graduate programs.
