About 17.3 percent of the 6,661 degrees and certificates handed out by the Portland State University in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Portland conferred 867 bachelor's degrees and 184 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Psychology, General. Data shows the school gave out 341 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General, followed by 264 certificates in Teacher Education and Professional Development, Specific Levels and Methods, Other and 227 bachelor's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies.

The university enrolled 26,627 students for 2016-17, including 21,071 in undergraduate programs and 5,556 in graduate programs.
