About 42.9 percent of the 1,178 degrees and certificates handed out by the Pacific University in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Grove conferred 289 doctor's degrees and 114 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in Optometry. Data shows the school gave out 96 doctor's degrees in Optometry, followed by 90 doctor's degrees in Pharmacy and 52 master's degrees in Clinical Psychology.

The university enrolled 3,909 students for 2016-17, including 1,930 in undergraduate programs and 1,979 in graduate programs.
