About 23.7 percent of the 857 degrees and certificates handed out by the Lewis & Clark College in 2016-17 were to students in Legal Professions and Studies programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Portland conferred 183 doctor's degrees and 20 master's degrees in Legal Professions and Studies programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in Law. Data shows the school gave out 183 doctor's degrees in Law, followed by 57 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General and 47 master's degrees in Mental Health Counseling/Counselor.

The college enrolled 3,419 students for 2016-17, including 2,134 in undergraduate programs and 1,285 in graduate programs.
